The following is from "The Aandahl Family" by Odd Meringdal: 2
"The Femmer family in
Norway would probably find roots in their pedigree somewhere down in Germany-
most likely from Fehmarn. In the 16th and 17th
century, members of this family had high positions and were wealthy.
"One Hans Jorgensen
Femmer
lived at Torvika
Gjemmes in the county of More and Romsdal. He was born in 1618 and
died in 1685. He married Gunnlid
Hansdatter Leth. She later married Hans Orbach, the District Judge in Romsdal.
"We also mention
Dorothea Christopherdatter Femmer, born about 1724. She married goldsmith Johan Lokke (or
Lyche). He died at Torvika,
Nordmore in 1778. She was his
second wife.
"From the metriculum of
1661 we see that Hans Femmer
had income from a part of the
farm Ness at Aandal.
